Katrina Damage, Waveland, Mississippi, 2005
Beside my parents home on Coleman Avenue.  This has been cleaned up a LOT before this picture was taken.

What remains of my parents home -- I'm standing in the background there -- looking for anything salvageable (we didn't find much)
These cinder blocks were all laid by my step dad himself and filled with cement and rebar, as you can see, nothing can hold the power of water -- knocked the houses right off of the foundations...just amazing.  This is Coleman Avenue, Waveland, MS.

Notice my step dad hung his flag up first thing after the storm.

This is the before picture of one of the duplexes.  My step pop Greg had just completed an addition to the left on the screen -- this is the duplex 1/2 they lived in (the first and second section are one duplex with the addition) -- the second duplex was rented out on the right side of the picture.  These were 17.5 feet above the ground, Camille had never come close to that height in flooding and he built these to "code" to withstand a LOT of wind -- the 33+ feet of water andthe high winds are what took all of the houses down in the area.  The silver van was my moms.  She had parked it up the road about 5 miles in the Wal Mart parking lot  thinking it would be safe there.  It received 9 feet of water, it was totaled.
