You see a lot of big things like this sitting around -- and lots of temporary trailers and tents set up as well.  FEMA has given lots of trailers to people and they are thankful to have use of them while they try to figure out what they are going to do.  Rebuild or find a new location to live.
This is everywhere -- and this is after a lot of cleanup has happened.

The white vehicle in the back was my mom's car that she had just given to my son to sell to raise funding for his college.  There it sits amongst everything....no insurance on this one.  It was parked at Rickey's Restaurant, across the street and up a little bit -- where the water usually didn't rise up that far...this was pushed by the surge about 100 feet behind Rickey's.
I believe this is Rickey's Restaurant--or what remains of it.

To the left is a mosaic that was built out of glass fragments and such from the hurricane Camille -- this is all that is left of the mosaic - the shop behind it is completely gone.  Tents are set up here and there - we're not sure who stays in these.

Remember, this is almost 3 months after the storm hit -- and it is still looking quite dismal.

This is facing the beach to the east side of my parents property.  Someone has moved in a trailer I see -

Olsen property, Coleman Avenue, Waveland, MS

They use whatever they can to mark street names -- this is Coleman Avenue and Beach Blvd.

I'm still looking for anything I can find.  We needed knee pads -- you could not get down on your hands or knees to dig for anything because of all the broken glass just everywhere -- we were using forks, spoons, knives, anything we could find, to dig with! Look in the background -- all the "deadness" of the area which was once so green and lush with trees.

What a mess and a common sight in Waveland
